My professional experience in the audiovisual sector focuses mainly on the radio sector. Since 2006, I started to be a part of Mataró Radio team making a radio program called Music Sound Deluxe.
The program is broadcast every week and always has been the duration of one hour except for special events.
Me and my colleagues already had an idea and had the bases of our radio program and had declared the intentions and objectives of the program.
When we knew that will appear a new radio in our city, we decided to take this opportunity and get in touch with the person responsible of managing the radio .It was 2007.
We spoke with the director of radio, Miss Mei Ros, and we sent our writing proposal via electronic mail to arrange an interview and have a chance to show our propositions.
Director gave his approval to our initiative and then we just had to specify the times. The director gave us the option of recording the program previously and broadcast in a different time but this option was not available for our program because our program are very interactive with the audience. We had live phone calls, and sometimes the audience sends us sms so, it has to be live-broadcast.
This program is formed by me, the director of the program Roger, and two collaborators Clara and Victor.
My work in the program, in addition to actively participating as speaker in much of the program, it was to be the producer and manager. I have to ensure that everything is ready for the day of the program, review the scripts, specify the other interviews with people and supervise the work of my colleagues and then tie it all. I think my role within the program is very important, very basic and I really feel Involving into the successes and failures of our program.
The program talks about electronic music, specifically in the genres electro, house and dance a little. However, the content of the program is not just electronic music, there are different sections, are more varied as the theme of the week, the telephone pranks, and sometimes interesting interviews.
If we talk about the specific tasks of the program, each week we need to get the music that we need for the program and perform a mixture according to the script with the informatic program Virtual DJ. This mix allows us to always have an audio track playing and the program will never remain silent. Then we make another mix with only three issues, which are form part of top 3 remember section.
I have to say that before the start of the program we did a lot of jingles and some short tracks to promocionate the program, or to give sense and modernity to our sections.
We have a group on Facebook social network where the audience can send messages that normally talk about the theme of the week, which is varied. It also helps me to see what are the current musical trends in a particular view and how to give they what they want, which is fundamental to the radio.
Not everything in the program is live. There are parts that are recorded before and we call it fake-live. For example, many phone-jokes are made beforehand and recorded and there are also many interviews too, we prefer to make them live but it is sometimes impossible because of the incompatibility of our timetables.
if I speak of Mataró Radio, should be said that their installations have augmented in the last year, increasing to 3 the number of studies by the two that they had at the beginning. There are at least two outstanding technicians working all the time and controlling what happens on the radio but I must say that thanks to my knowledge acquired at the University and adding support of these technicians we don’t need their help to carry on the program, we are totally self-sufficient.
The relation between Music Sound Deluxe and Mataró Radio is very fluent. We talk often with the director of the radio about the most important aspects of the program and our strategies to gain audience.
We made almost one mensual meeting to discuss about everything.
There are moments during the season that the radio gives us the opportunity to make the program live in public spaces.
Sometimes during the village carnival, thanks to the collaboration of the City Council of Mataro the radio install different mobile stands at a different points of the city. Mostly in major festivals or public events for the city. I consider this very good for my professional experience because do the show on that situation is more exciting and difficult than do it on studio.
Now I’m almost detached from the radio program and I can,t do a lot of things to help because Im living in Wales but the program is still working so I will reconnect whit it once I will be in Mataro.
Initially, the components of the program signed a contract of one year extendable for 2 if certain expectations are compiled. We pass the test so now we are in the year 2 of Music Sound Deluxe.
I am very happy to continue being part of this program and continue working in this company because the radio is a world that I was always interested and the working conditions are very good.
